Real Estate Legal Assistant

Description Seeking an organized, dependable and detail-oriented Real Estate Closing Assistant to assist with residential real estate transactions. This position will work closely with the attorney to help manage files from opening through closing. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, comfortable managing multiple files and deadlines, and able to provide professional and friendly service to clients, lenders, real estate agents and other parties involved in a transaction. Open and organize new real estate closing files Communicate with buyers, sellers, lenders, real estate agents and other parties throughout the closing process Request and obtain mortgage and loan payoff information Gather documents and information needed for upcoming closings Coordinate closing dates, times and other scheduling details Track outstanding items and follow up to ensure closing requirements are completed on time Maintain accurate and organized electronic and/or paper files Assist the attorney with preparation and organization of closing documents Respond to phone calls and emails related to active transactions Provide general administrative support related to the firm's real estate practice Qualifications Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously Comfortable communicating professionally with clients, lenders, attorneys and real estate professionals Dependable and able to work independently Comfortable using computers, email and standard office software Ability to handle confidential client information appropriately Previous experience in a law office, real estate closing office, title company, mortgage company or similar setting is highly preferred but not required. Experience with SoftPro used for closing transactions highly preferred but not required.
