Job Title OneSource Site Lead Location Merck (Rahway) - Customer Site, NJ Job Description The OneSource Site Leader oversees and manages the performance of the OneSource Laboratory Support Coordinator and Service Engineer team supporting a strategic customer account. The role partners closely with the OneSource Service Area Manager to ensure standardized, high‑quality service delivery and consistent customer responsiveness across the supported sites. In collaboration with customer stakeholders and internal leadership, the leader ensures laboratory support services—including service engineering, lab support coordination, and EHS services—are executed in compliance with regulatory, safety, and contractual requirements, while tracking, analyzing, and reporting critical KPIs to drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Partner with customer stakeholders and internal OneSource teams to deliver laboratory support services with scientific rigor and regulatory compliance. Ensure all services align with Good Laboratory Practices, EHS, biosafety, and site‑specific laboratory procedures. Collaborate with customer safety representatives and internal EHS teams to maintain a strong safety culture. Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and controlled documentation for consistent, repeatable, and auditable service execution. Interface with key customer contacts to ensure defined KPIs and SLAs are met or exceeded, proactively identifying and mitigating service delivery risks. Lead regular stakeholder meetings with laboratory staff, service providers, and management to review and resolve service, quality, or compliance issues promptly. Mentor, train, and develop on‑site OneSource staff in laboratory support operations, workflows, customer communication, and service excellence. Partner with the service team to drive talent development, performance management, workforce planning, and succession planning. Facilitate team meetings, one‑on‑one sessions, and formal performance evaluations. Lead interviewing, hiring, and onboarding activities, ensuring new team members are effectively trained and integrated. Address performance or disciplinary issues in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. Ensure efficient deployment of on‑site resources through effective scheduling, cross‑training, and workload balancing. Maintain administrative responsibilities, including onboarding, time and labor approval, expense management, and time‑off administration. Track, analyze, and report operational KPIs and service metrics, transforming data into clear, visual, and actionable insights for internal leadership and customer reviews. Ensure compliance with all training requirements related to health and safety, security, environmental stewardship, and operational standards. Qualifications Strong project management, process optimization, and continuous improvement skills. Ability to interpret operational and laboratory data and translate findings into visual, customer‑facing reports. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior scientific and operational leadership. Proven people leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills. Experience working in regulated, compliance‑driven laboratory environments. Proficiency with Microsoft365 tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to manage competing priorities in fast‑paced laboratory settings. Experience collaborating with global and cross‑functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting research laboratories, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Strong knowledge of laboratory safety practices and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with 5S, Lean, and/or Six Sigma methodologies. Working Environment Must be able to work in a laboratory or controlled environment requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses). Job pace may be fast and demands may be high. The position requires staying in a stationary position more than 25% of the time and occasionally moving between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and on‑site buildings. Vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment are required to perform essential functions. Compensation Annual compensation range: $87,000 to $89,000. Final base pay will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, and individual qualifications.
