The Webster Highway Department is seeking a part-time Office Clerk IV to provide administrative support on a temporary basis over the next several months extending into the first half of 2027. This position performs a wide range of administrative and seasonal tasks essential to the departments daily operations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is eager to learn department processes adapt to changing needs and apply their skills to support efficient workflow and customer service.

Typical Work Activities : (All need not be performed in a given position. Other related activities may be performed although not listed.)

Financial Duties
Intake material tickets and match them with invoices
Process and track payment vouchers
Maintain cost-tracking spreadsheets
Create and track purchase orders
Generate monthly financial reports
Track capital project payments and general ledger expenses

Snow and Ice
Maintain the Snow and Ice database
Review and submit Snow and Ice tickets
Track Snow and Ice material usage

Fuel System
Manage fuel fob distribution
Develop fuel reports and payment vouchers
Troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of fuel access issues

Personnel
Assist with onboarding and departures including uniforms locker assignments and training coordination
Intake and organize incident reports

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in municipal government or public works office settings
• Strong understanding of basic accounting or financial record-keeping
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Access)
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities during seasonal workload changes

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma. Where education is lacking clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
