Credit Review Senior Examiner Location: Charlotte, North Carolina; Dallas, Texas; Chicago, Illinois Job Description: This role is responsible for performing transaction reviews, including assessing the quality of credit decisions, managing portfolios, and evaluating the effectiveness of credit management processes. Key responsibilities include participating in credit review examinations and continuously testing activities across various portfolios within Enterprise Credit to evaluate credit strategies. Job expectations include supporting conclusions through fact‑based analysis, influencing senior leaders, and leading special projects. Position Summary: Through examinations and monitoring, Credit Review provides an independent assessment of credit decisions and the effectiveness of credit processes across the bank’s credit platform, identifying risks and reporting findings to stakeholders. Responsibilities Performs transactional testing of credit process execution for new and existing clients. Supports conclusions through fact‑based analysis, proposing suggestions, and influencing senior leaders. Participates in examination activities, occasionally leading exams. Identifies, assesses, and reports on existing and emerging risks. Drives a culture of continuous improvement by leading or participating in complex or multiple projects. Achieves continuous testing goals by producing quality, timely work. Maintains well‑written, easy‑to‑follow work papers in accordance with Credit Review guidelines and best practices. Raises potential areas of concern for QA team to review. Actively engages with Corporate Audit to ensure ongoing awareness of review activity, coordination, and ongoing risk assessment. Supports enterprise initiatives related to operational excellence and adoption of AI tools to continuously improve work processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with a preference in finance, accounting, economics or other business concentration. Solid, time‑served commercial credit experience (direct lending, workout, risk management and/or regulatory). Ability to support conclusions through fact‑based analysis and to influence senior leaders. Excellent credit analysis, project management and leadership skills. Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple complex tasks while delivering high quality results. Expert financial analysis skills. Deep knowledge of loan structuring and underwriting. Experience in credit and risk assessment. Issue management and resolution. Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance. Excellent skills in building and maintaining business relationships. Desired Qualifications 10+ years of direct commercial credit experience. Demonstrated experience in identifying, assessing, and reporting on existing and emerging risks. Direct applicability to Credit Review responsibility. Ability to coach/mentor new or less experienced associates. Strong counterparty credit risk background and/or Global Markets experience preferred.
