Window Cleaner Supervisor – Facilities – SFO (7268) Department: San Francisco International Airport Salary range: $103,844.00 – $126,126.00 Job type: Permanent Civil Service (Rule of 10, Position‑Based Test) Responsibilities Assign duties to and supervise window cleaners in installing and using bosun’s chairs, scaffolding, lifts, and other safety equipment for interior and exterior glass surfaces. Direct the assembly of rigs, high‑safety lines, and lifts for cleaning of domes, ledges, skylights, and other glass surfaces of varying heights and angles. Enforce safety procedures, conduct safety meetings, and investigate potential hazards to employees and the public. Conduct ongoing in‑service training, interview and instruct new window cleaners, evaluate employee performance, and apply modern cleaning techniques. Maintain records of window‑cleaning operations, including inspections, reports, and inventory of supplies and equipment. Communicate with the public, tenants, and agency representatives regarding cleaning procedures and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience: Two (2) years of verifiable professional window‑cleaning experience using bosun’s chairs, scaffolding, and lifts to clean interior and exterior windows at heights of 18 feet or above. Experience as part of a janitorial or maintenance position does not qualify. License & Certification: Valid Driver’s License and insurance coverage under the City’s automobile liability insurance policy. Insurability must be maintained throughout employment. Desirable Qualifications Certificates in aviation‑lift operator safety, fall‑protection competent‑person training, and exterior swing‑stage scaffold training. Knowledge of Cal‑OSHA Standards. Experience cleaning glass or similar surfaces. Experience preparing records and maintaining reports. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership and mentoring ability.
