Position Overview Pediatric Specialty Care in Point Pleasant, PA (Bucks County) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our team. The RT will provide quality care for clinically complex pediatric residents in a home‑like atmosphere, evaluating ventilator weaning and/or respiratory rehabilitation potential and ensuring their health and well‑being. Salary and Compensation Up to $53.00 per hour plus a new shift premium. Sign‑On Bonus $5,000 for part‑time positions. Shift Options (12‑hour shifts) Night shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am). Additional part‑time or full‑time options are available. Identifies individual problems and needs through objective data and interview, observation, and review of records. Consults with the attending physician regarding treatment protocol and provides written recommendations for interdisciplinary care planning. Contributes to the development, maintenance, and evaluation of individual care plans. Administers respiratory care interventions in accordance with care plans, AARC standards, and state regulations. Documents care plan outcomes for scheduled and PRN treatments. Identifies problems and develops comprehensive plans of care per facility policy and federal/state regulations. Maintains written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries per policy. Documents medication administration and other required records. Administers prescribed medications and treatments according to approved respiratory techniques. Initiates ventilator weaning protocols or respiratory rehabilitation per physician orders and maintains communication with physicians. Monitors and reports deviations from expected lab values or monitoring parameters. Conducts daily assessments of each assigned individual. Communicates pertinent information to coworkers, managers, and the interdisciplinary team. Collaboration with other departments and provides training to meet special needs. Demonstrates flexibility in response to schedule changes, emergencies, and individual needs. Maintains safety and confidentiality of medical records. Ensures appropriate, cost‑effective use of equipment and supplies. Alerts leadership of needed supplies and equipment for the Respiratory Therapy Department. Completes documentation in the medical records and all in‑house communication, including ventilation checks every 12 hours per PSC policy. Provides training to new staff, families, and caregivers on respiratory equipment and procedures. Assists with in‑service training programs for personnel involved in direct care. Administers inhaled medications to ventilator‑dependent individuals and pulmonary rehabilitation clients. Documents, reports, and follows through on abnormal findings with physicians, nurses, or team members. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution (Bachelor’s preferred). Active, unencumbered state Respiratory Therapist license for the state of employment; registered or certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Valid CPR certification from the AHA or equivalent healthcare provider. At least 21 years of age.
