About the Position

Registered Nurse - PACU

Location: Lakewood, Colorado

Start Date: 06-22-2026

End Date: 09-21-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Variable start times between 7:30 AM - 11:00 AM, primarily covering 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, with on-call requirements 1 night every 6 weeks including weekends and holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery care to post-surgical patients
• Monitor and assess patients recovering from ortho, trauma, cardiac, urology, pulmonary, and GI procedures
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient transitions
• Respond to ICU patients recovering in the PACU with expert clinical judgment
• Read and interpret cardiac strips to maintain patient safety
• Support the unit during lunch relief and assist colleagues as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• PACU nursing expertise with Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery skills
• Strong assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Comfort managing vents, CPAP, and BiPAP equipment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to float as needed and adapt to changing priorities

Requirements

• Active RN license in Colorado or compact state
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• ED or ICU experience strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience a plus
