About the Position

Job Title: PCU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Valid Compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with patient ratios of 3-4 - Proficient in charting systems, specifically Epic Description: This position will float between units as needed. Weekends are required, with every other weekend scheduled. Block schedules are required. Expected patient ratios are 1:4. Special requirements include current BLS and ACLS certifications. The facility is a Short Term Acute Care / Level III Trauma Center. Staffing support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams. Patient diagnoses include congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, acute respiratory failure, sepsis, syncope, stroke, alcohol withdrawal, and chest pain. The daily census averages around 35 patients, with a total of 42 beds on the unit. Candidates may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. All time spent on modules is included in non-billable hours. Providers will be supplied with communication devices needed for their duties at no cost. Providers are responsible for submitting mobile phone bills related to work, if applicable. Candidates should refrain from contacting facility personnel directly.
