Description Senior System Administrator – Support mission‑critical Navy training systems at NAWS China Lake, CA. This role secures, sustains, and optimizes complex DoD environments, directly enabling warfighter readiness. Location NAWS China Lake, CA Security Clearance Requirement Top Secret U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Top Secret clearance required. Telework Eligible? No, work is performed on site at NAWS China Lake. What You’ll Do Maintain high‑availability and security of Navy training systems in a mission‑critical environment. This includes system upgrades, vulnerability management, integration of new applications, configuration management, compliance with DoD security frameworks, and troubleshooting of software issues. Key Responsibilities Plan, test, and implement system upgrades to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Support RMF and ATO activities, including vulnerability scanning (ACAS, Evaluate STIG) and development of accreditation artifacts. Integrate new software applications within complex, mission‑critical environments. Apply and maintain operating system security configurations in alignment with DISA STIG requirements. Identify and resolve system flaws, implementing technical controls to strengthen cybersecurity. Conduct vulnerability scans and assessments to safeguard systems from potential threats. Troubleshoot and resolve software issues within integrated environments to maintain seamless operations. Ensure compliance with DoD RMF, FISMA, NIST 800‑53, and DoD SRG requirements. Requirements – What You’ll Bring CompTIA Security+ required. Master’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field desired. Additional certifications desired: CCNP, CISSP, CASP+, etc. At least one of the following certifications: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate – Windows Server 2016 (or later), RedHat Certified System Administrator, or VMware Certified Professional. Preferred: 7 years of related system administration experience. Strong working knowledge of vCenter/VMware required. Proficiency with Windows operating systems required; Linux experience is a plus. Experience managing DoD Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) preferred. Demonstrated experience managing DNS performance and reliability. Proven experience implementing and maintaining local and group policies. Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Active Directory domain controller servers for managing authentication, authorization, and network resources. Knowledge of log aggregation and analysis across multiple sources. Familiarity with Windows PowerShell preferred. Highly organized, managing competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Salary Range Anticipated annual salary: $135,000 – $155,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skill set.
