Job Description

Job Purpose: Permanently joins metal parts together using various welding techniques and equipment. Duties and Responsibilities: Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures. Use the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements. Setting up components for welding according to specification

Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures. Use appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements. Set up components for welding according to specifications. Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead) Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety. Work OT as needed.

Previous welder experience preferred: Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.) Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc)

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Physical requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to stand entire shift, walk, reach within hands and arm's length, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
