Enrollment Coordinator

The individual in this position will be the first point of contact for prospective College of Southern Maryland students. This interaction includes providing information, admitting, advising, registering, and supporting students through their first classes at CSM. The Enrollment Coordinator's time will be spent working with prospective and current students. Recruitment efforts require a good amount of time away from the office by participating and attending college recruitment activities such as high school visits, college fairs, scholarship fairs, and community events. This position is also responsible for coordinating the Special Admission programs for Early College and international students, advising, and registering students in these programs.
Reports to: Assistant Director of Admissions
The hiring salary for this position will be from the min to mid-point of the salary range advertised. This position is open until filled.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
40% Recruitment
- Coordinate, conduct and participate in various targeted college recruitment activities such as but not limited to: high school visits, college fairs, open houses, registration events on designated county campus or other CSM campuses and in the tri-county area.
- Communicate and market CSM programs and courses daily.
- Participate in events in the community which support the mission of the department and the college.
- Provide information to prospective students regarding the College of Southern Maryland.
- Supports international students through the admissions process, inform them of F-1 Visa requirements and advise on first semester coursework.
- Coordinate recruitment and enrollment activities for the Special Admissions programs (Early College) to include high school presentations, parent nights and information sessions.
- Recruit students from Adult Education Programs and English as a Second Language classes to expand their education in Workforce Development and credit courses.
- Communicate CSM programs and course information daily either by telephone, email, or individual meetings.
- Serves as first point of contact for potential and incoming first-year students via incoming calls, voicemails, and emails. Handle inquiries by parents, school liaisons or community members.
- Assist with high school Enrollment Days with CSM Enrollment Team and advising staff.
40% Advisement and Academic Support
- Provide general academic advisement to students in the first semester to assist students with meeting their academic goals and plans.
- Meet with first-year students in individual appointments.
- Meet with F-1 Visa students to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Evaluate college readiness to include high school transcripts, SAT/ACT scores and placement test results to determine student course placement for their first semester.
- Provide registration assistance sessions for new and special admissions students.
- Main point of contact for county Early College students and assist them through the admissions and course scheduling process.
20% Administrative
- Maintain accurate records of international and Early College students.
- Scan and review student documentation through Perceptive Content.
- Monitor and respond to emails in shared Admissions and International email inbox.
- Collect and report weekly statistics to the Assistant Director of Admissions.
Additional Duties:
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Training
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Two years of work experience in the Student Services area in a collegiate setting.
- Experience working with international students preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Evidence of advocacy for student academic success.
- Excellent communication and human relations skills.
- Ability to work with professional integrity and discretion.
- Experience in the use of integrated data systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a relatively safe, and secure work environment.

Any full-time college employee who also holds a full-time position or its equivalent in consulting elsewhere (whether permanent or seasonal) will be deemed to have a conflict of interest and will be asked to resign from one of the full-time positions. Full-time employees must promptly disclose in writing, on a form available from the Human Resources Office, to the college all other full-time employment or its equivalent in independent consulting.
