Job Title: Middle School 8th Grade ELA

Reports to: K-8 Principal

As an 8th Grade ELA Teacher you will inspire students to develop strong reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills while creating a supportive and engaging classroom environment. Duties

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned with Michigan Academic Standards.
• Develop lessons that promote reading comprehension, writing proficiency, vocabulary development, and critical thinking skills.
• Assess student learning and provide timely feedback to support academic growth.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Create and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to enhance student achievement.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Utilize technology and instructional resources to support student learning.
• Participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and school events.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.

Requirements:

• Degree
• • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
• License
• • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement(s) for English Language Arts (ELA) at the middle school level.
