About the Role

The SLP will provide speech therapy services primarily in acute inpatient rehabilitation, with potential coverage of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and outpatient patients based on clinical needs.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients requiring speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing rehabilitation services.
- Independently perform Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies in radiology and develop appropriate treatment recommendations based on findings.
- Provide speech therapy services across acute inpatient rehabilitation and SNF settings, with possible outpatient coverage as needed.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care while monitoring patient progress and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using the designated electronic medical record system and participate in required weekend, holiday, and floating coverage.
- Active Hawaii Speech-Language Pathologist License Required by the Start of the Assignment; Candidates Without an Active Hawaii License Must Apply Upon Offer Acceptance.
- Minimum 2 Years of Speech-Language Pathology Experience Required, Preferably in Acute Care, SNF, or Rehabilitation Hospital Settings.
- Independent Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) Study Experience Required.
- Current BLS/BCLS Certification Required.
- Current ASHA Credential Required; Acute Care Dysphagia and Inpatient Rehabilitation Experience Required.
The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide comprehensive, patient-centered rehabilitation services with a strong focus on swallowing assessment, functional communication, and safe progression of care.
