RN Cardiac ICU Part time Nights

Position The Heart Hospital - 1100 Allied Dr, Plano, 75093 Position: RN Cardiac Universal Bed CUB Unit (Tele, PCU, ICU, CVICU) Shift/Schedule: Part Time, Nights. 6:45 PM-7:15 AM. Required Experience: Minimum 2 years of strong Cardiac RN experience in ICU or PCU. Unit Overview 2 CUB (Cardiac Universal Bed) Unit is a fast‑paced environment for high‑acuity patients. Leadership fosters learning, mentoring, and team building. Patient Population: Cardiac and vascular patients, including CHF and immediate post‑op heart bypass/valve cases. Care for telemetry, PCU, ICU, and CV patients. Patient Ratios: Tele: 1:4; PCU: 1:3; ICU: 1:2; CVICU: 1:1 – immediate post‑op or unstable ICU patients with specialized devices. Number of Beds: 20. Department Specifics: Skills leveling, caring for ICU devices (Impella, IABP, CRRT, EKOS, lumbar drain); world‑renowned surgeons; magnet hospital; active unit‑based council. Job Summary As an RN, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies. Essential Functions Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans; adjust plans to reach desired outcomes. Build relationships, manage discomfort, and remain professional in therapeutic connections with patients and families. Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members; empower with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly with colleagues and community to create care plans. Apply problem‑solving strategies; recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency. Achieve goals through teamwork; recognize contributions; commit to growth; contribute to peers’ development; show community service commitment. Key Success Factors Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures. Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines; understanding of hospital procedures and rules. Proficiency in medical terms focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and side effects. Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties. Excellent problem‑solving capabilities; critical thinking. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, electronic medical documentation, information security, scheduling, payroll systems, email). Qualifications Graduated from an accredited nursing program. RN license. Must have BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of starting.
