Job Type: Officer of Administration Regular/Temporary: Regular Hours Per Week: 35 Standard Work Schedule: Hybrid Schedule (3 Days On-site) Salary Range: $69,300-$85,000 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Since 1898, Columbia faculty and alumni have played a leading role in advancing the field of social work through scholarly and professional contributions. The Associate Director of Admissions at the Columbia School of Social Work, plays a vital role in shaping the admissions process of a diverse and dedicated student body. In this role, the incumbent will participate in the creation and delivery of comprehensive communication and recruitment strategies to meet the goals of attracting and admitting dynamic students that enhance the diverse community of the School of Social Work (CSSW). Responsibilities Serve as a key contributor to the Admissions team by developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive communication, outreach recruitment, and yield strategies for prospective domestic and international applicants throughout the admissions process. Review and evaluate applications for admission as a member of the Admissions Committee, assessing candidates' academic preparation, professional experience, personal statements, recommendations, and overall alignment with the School's mission and admission criteria. Represent CSSW at local and national recruitment events, graduate admission fairs, on- and off-campus information sessions, webinars, and other prospective student programs. Travel locally and domestically on behalf of the school as needed. Prepare the admission committee, and faculty readers for the review of applications. Coordinate application assignments, review schedules, reader training sessions, and payments. Oversee the administration and upkeep of student records in the Admissions CRM software, Technologies Slate, guaranteeing efficient processing of all application-related documents. Provide prompt responses to inquiries about application status, ensure the timely delivery of admission decision letters and eBrochures, and manage email communications for potential, current, and admitted students. Compile and deliver weekly reports on prospective students, admissions, enrollments, and events to offer a comprehensive statistical overview of ongoing progress. Collaborate with the Admissions team, faculty, students, alumni, Alumni Relations, and other School and University administrators to identify and address recruitment, outreach, applicant engagement, and yield opportunities. Support the Director of Admissions in overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the Admissions department, including the supervision, training, and direction of an Assistant Director of Admissions, graduate assistants, summer interns, workstudy students, Student Ambassadors, temporary staff, and other student workers. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required. Minimum 3-5 years related experience required. Preferred Qualifications Experience in higher education and/or human services. Master's degree in Higher Education, Social Work or Education. Experience with CRM platforms; student databases; SLATE online application system and Columbia's SIS. Other Requirements Strong interpersonal, organizational, program development and time-management skills. Demonstrated independent judgment and initiative in fulfilling responsibilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be highly energetic, goal-oriented, results driven, creative and team-oriented. Ability to work independently and well under pressure. Must have fluency in information technologies and be able to learn and incorporate new technologies rapidly. Must be available for some travel and weekend work.
