This fully onsite Facilities Engineer role focuses on supporting senior staff in the initiation, design, and delivery of facilities-related projects. Responsibilities
This role is fully onsite and based in a facilities-focused environment where you work closely with senior engineering and facilities management teams. You operate primarily during standard business hours, with occasional flexibility as project needs arise. The work involves time in office settings for documentation and coordination, as well as regular presence in operational facilities areas to conduct walkdowns, field evaluations, and commissioning activities. You collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party firms, using standard engineering and documentation tools to support the design and delivery of facilities projects.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Responsibilities
- Support senior engineering and facilities staff in the initiation, design, and delivery of facilities-related projects.
- Gather and clarify user requirements for facilities systems and translate them into accurate technical documentation for execution by third-party firms.
- Assist with project definition by performing engineering studies and assessments of facilities systems to evaluate performance, quality, and reliability.
- Conduct facilities walkdowns to assess system conditions, identify issues, and support quality and compliance objectives.
- Perform field evaluations of existing facilities systems and provide engineering design recommendations to improve performance and reliability.
- Participate in commissioning walks as a delegate for the facilities management team to verify proper installation, operation, and documentation of systems.
- Manage assigned tasks to completion, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and project requirements are met.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including facilities management and third-party firms, to support project execution.
- Apply engineering problem-solving skills to address issues related to commissioning, change controls, deviations, and CAPAs in facilities projects.
- Document findings from walkdowns, field evaluations, and commissioning activities and communicate them clearly to stakeholders.
- Approximately 4-5 years of experience in facilities engineering, facilities management, or facilities project work.
- Demonstrated experience with facilities management and facilities projects.
- Hands-on commissioning experience, including participation in commissioning walks.
- Experience performing facilities walkdowns and field evaluations of existing systems.
- Understanding of change controls, deviations, and CAPAs within an engineering or facilities context.
- Strong proactive approach to work, taking initiative and driving tasks to completion.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with senior staff, facilities teams, and third-party firms.
- Solid engineering problem-solving skills applied to facilities systems and project challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Master's degree; or
- Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience; or
- Associate degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience; or
- High school diploma or GED and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience creating and reviewing technical documentation for facilities projects.
- Exposure to facilities-related quality assessments and performance evaluations.
- Ability to work effectively as a junior resource supporting senior engineers and facilities professionals.
