Job Title: Financial Data Analyst
Location: San Jose, CA or Boise, ID
Duration: 6+ Months

Support the CBS S/4HANA discovery & transition workstream by:

Cleaning and rationalizing finance master data
Supporting SAP migration (ECC → S/4HANA)
Assisting with reporting, dashboards, and finance analytics
Building process maps and workflows across business teams

Job Summary

Senior Financial Data Analyst role supporting SAP S/4HANA transformation (CBS discovery workstream) . The role focuses on finance master data cleanup, reporting, and process mapping , combined with business-facing finance analytics . This is a highly collaborative, onsite role working closely with finance teams, business stakeholders, and external consultants to enable a smooth transition to S/4.

• Must-Have Skills

Finance & Functional

Strong understanding of P&L (Profit & Loss)
Solid accounting fundamentals
Experience working in finance teams (FP&A / Controllership / Revenue Accounting)

Data & Systems

Hands-on experience with SAP (any version/module)
Strong understanding of master data structures :
- Profit centers
- Cost centers
- Chart of accounts
Experience in data analysis and data cleanup

Reporting & Analytics

Experience in:
- Financial reporting
- Variance analysis (cost/revenue)
Ability to interpret data and communicate insights clearly

Soft Skills

Strong stakeholder communication
Ability to work cross-functionally
Mature, independent, and detail-oriented

• Preferred Skills

Exposure to SAP S/4HANA (nice to have, not mandatory)
Experience with Power BI (dashboard modification/creation)
Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) / SCP
Experience in:
- Data migration / transformation projects
- Process mapping / workflow documentation
Exposure to IBM TM1 or reporting system transitions

What Exactly We Are Looking For

8-10 years experienced Senior Financial Analyst (Not entry-level; requires maturity and ownership)
Someone who can:
- Bridge finance + data
- Understand how master data impacts financial reporting
- Work with complex datasets and drive cleanup initiatives
- Support SAP transformation (pre-implementation phase)
A candidate who:
- Has worked in real finance environments
- Can analyze, interpret, and present financial data
- Is comfortable working with multiple stakeholders on-site
Not just technical - must be able to:
- Explain insights
- Build process understanding
- Support decision-making with data
