Substitute Teacher

Summary Locust Grove Elementary is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that students continue to receive quality education in the absence of their regular classroom teacher. This role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a passion for fostering student growth and engagement. Responsibilities Implement lesson plans left by the regular teacher and ensure that students understand the material. Maintain classroom management and create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. Assist students with their academic needs and provide support as necessary. Supervise students during class activities, lunch, and recess to ensure their safety. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs of students. Report any incidents or issues to the appropriate school personnel. Complete any administrative tasks as required, including attendance records and lesson notes. Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as needed. Requirements Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and student needs. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
