This position routinely works directly with technicians, dispatch, customers, members of the sales team, office support personnel, other managers, and company leadership to ensure customer satisfaction while meeting department goals and objectives. This role has direct reports. You'll work mostly independently, with regular team collaboration, and reports to a direct supervisor.Essential Functions/ResponsibilitiesProvides technical leadership and support to HVAC field techniciansAssists technicians with advanced installation, troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair strategiesServes as the primary technical resource for complex commercial HVAC systemsPerforms daily field operations and technician performance oversightSupports scheduling, workforce planning, and workload managementConducts job-site visits to assist crews and ensure quality workmanshipReviews service documentation, repair recommendations, and completed work ordersDevelop and implement technical training programs for field personnelMentor technicians and support career development opportunitiesRecruits, interviews, hires, and trains technicians as required to meet workload demands, and company or customer expectations and requirements.Ensures compliance with company safety standards and industry best practicesPromotes a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvementWorks closely with customers to address technical concerns and provide solutionsSupports department growth through operational excellence and exceptional customer serviceMarginal Functions/ResponsibilitiesOther duties as assigned by authorized personnelRequirementsEducation/Experience/Training Requirements10+ years of direct commercial HVAC industry experienceAdvanced knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and troubleshootingStrong installation, diagnostic and problem-solving skillsPrevious experience leading, mentoring, or supervising techniciansAbility to communicate effectively with technicians, customers, and managementStrong organizational and time management skillsCommitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfactionPreferredExperience managing HVAC teams or departmentsFamiliarity with building automation and control systemsEPA Certification and applicable trade licensesExperience with service management software and mobile field service platformsTechnical certifications from industry manufacturers or organizationsLicensing RequirementsValid class D driver's license and commercial insurability required.Skills/Abilities RequirementsHighly motivated with a strong drive to accept and lead success and changeSuperior verbal and written communication skills.Superior managerial and diplomacy skillsTechnical aptitude to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of HVAC systems, local codes, and utilize resources to find solutions.Ability to read, interpret, utilize, and train on manuals, schematics, and control circuits related to HVAC and refrigeration systems.Ability to project a professional company image.Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments.Ability to perform effectively in a high stress, fast-paced environment.Ability to resolve conflict for internal and external customers.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Ability to effectively learn new software applications independently.Ability to travel between business locations and job sites up to 100% of the time.Ability to work a non-standard schedule including on-call nights, weekends, and holidays.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Physical DemandsStationary Position Frequently required to perform work seated at a desk for 6-8 hours and maintain a stationary position in a vehicle for 2-4 hours while traveling between jobsites.Move Regularly walks through indoor and outdoor jobsites, including uneven surfaces.Operate Frequently uses commercial vehicles, power tools, mobile devices, computers and office equipment. Requires repetitive finger motion, hand dexterity, elbow bending and prolong outward and upward arm extension.Ascend/Descend Frequently required to ascend/descend stairs and ladders to access all areas of equipment and jobsites including rooftops.Positions self Frequently required to bend, stoop and access small, confined spaces.Communicate Frequently communicates with internal and external customers using spoken word and the ability to perceive the natural sounds of normal speaking levels. Must be able to exchange accurate information through oral and written communication and make fine discriminations in sound.
