Relocation Authorized: National - Single Grade: 25 Telework Type: Full-Time Office/Project Work Location: Clay, NY Salary Range: 91,000-138,800 annually (salary range is based on market data; final salary offered is determined by education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.) Job Summary In this role, you will coordinate and update survey strategy, provide technical support for laser scanning and meteorology surveys, and oversee survey computer aided design (CAD) drawings, instrument calibration, subcontractor survey work, and project drone operations. Your recommendations will ensure drone flight safety and high quality, accurate work delivered within schedule and budget. Major Responsibilities Lead the survey team’s implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs. Produce the survey strategy and procedure document, which details the requirements for survey equipment, survey content, competence requirements and assessments, and survey accuracy, checking, validation, acceptance, and archiving. Establish and verify the project’s survey control network. Lead the oversight of survey works by direct hire surveyors in a given area or areas, coordinate all Survey activities, and manage Survey Subcontract and resources if applicable. Supervise sub-contracted survey crews, including verification of survey crews’ control points and work. Provide technical support as related to survey to Field Engineering and Superintendents in a wide range of situation and configurations. Supervise daily data downloading and processing. Corp Laser Scanning & Metrology Manager. Produce survey’s scanning and metrology strategy and procedure document, which details the requirements for equipment, content, competence requirements and assessments, and accuracy, checking, validation, acceptance, and archiving. Assist the Corporate Survey Manager with competency evaluations and assignments of qualified scanning and metrology survey personnel. Oversee the establishment and verification of the Dimensional Control (DC) as required. Education and Experience Requirements Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge and Skills Multi-Disciplined Field Engineering Survey experience with earthwork, excavation, concrete, structural steel, mechanical, and piping installation layout and verification. Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience. Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Incidents” safety program. Knowledge of Bechtel quality standards. Must have a solid record of successful project completion with little to zero rework. Knowledge of construction survey principles. Demonstrated ability to always maintain a safe work ethic and work environment. Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment, able to formulate a working relationship with survey team members, other departments, contractors, and survey functional management. Displays effective communications skills crucial to understanding instructions and plans in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrated experience with Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Digital Levels & GNSS survey systems, and Access field software. CAD literate, experience with CAD software a plus. Experience with providing survey support for UAV/Drone operations a plus. Experience with 3D Laser Scanning hardware and software a plus. Experience with Metrology field & office activities a plus.
