The Salvation Army is hiring for full-time Donation Attendant/Material Handler at our West Covina Store. Great opportunity to get a start or improve your customer service skills with donors while contributing to the success of our Adult Rehabilitation Program. Rate: $16.90 per hour

Description

Essential job duties include maintaining and cleaning the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift, appearing neatly and cleanly dressed in suitable clothing as per The Salvation Army dress code policy, courteously assisting the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and providing receipt, maintaining all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor, separating and sorting all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stacking material as instructed by the Supervisor. Additionally, assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations on to trucks as necessary, inform the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.), secure and lock Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift, and have flexible availability for scheduling purposes. Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects up to 75lbs. with or without assistance
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
