Field Service Technician - Local Travel 

Fishers, IN | Local Service Territory | $75,000 - $90,000 DOE | Day Travel Only

Are you a hands-on technician who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving customer problems, and working independently? We are seeking a Field Service Technician to support customers throughout the Indianapolis metro area, providing installation, maintenance, repair, and preventative service for packaging automation equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined professional who wants local travel, a consistent schedule, and the chance to work with leading manufacturing and distribution operations across Central Indiana.

What You'll Do

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot end-of-line packaging automation equipment.
• Respond to customer service calls and emergency equipment breakdowns.
• Perform preventative maintenance services and equipment inspections.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues.
• Test and verify equipment performance following repairs and installations.
• Document service activities and communicate findings to customers and internal teams.
• Provide exceptional customer support while maintaining strong client relationships.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades.

Territory

• Based in Fishers, Indiana
• Local day travel throughout the greater Indianapolis area
• Support warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers across Central Indiana
• Minimal overnight travel

Qualifications

• Previous experience in field service, maintenance, automation, packaging equipment, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred

• Experience with packaging, conveyor, automation, or material handling equipment.
• Electrical troubleshooting experience.
• PLC exposure or basic controls knowledge.
• Technical school training or related certification.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

• $75,000 - $90,000 Annual Base Salary (DOE)
