POSITION TITLE: Substitute Speech Language Pathologist

ASSIGNMENT: Districtwide

CERTIFICATION: Valid NYS Certification

START DATE: As Soon As Possible

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid NYS Certification: Speech and Language Disabilities (All Grades)
2. Knowledge of New York State Learning Standards and understanding of effective classroom instruction
3. Strong commitment to children
4. Experience working with Special Education students in general education classrooms
5. Experience providing standardized assessments for language, articulation, fluency, and AAC
6. Experience providing speech-language therapy services for a variety of disorders and needs
7. Experience with therapy and programming of AAC devices
8. Knowledge of writing IEPs and goals
9. Knowledge and experience with childhood communication disorders
10. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
11. Thorough knowledge of child growth and development
12. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
13. Alternatives to the above as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Part-time, temporary appointment
• $145.00 per day (Certified)
