Histology Laboratory Supervisor

Job Description Actively looking for Histology Supervisor to join a leading blood test laboratory in Atlanta, GA! Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Histology laboratory and supervision of the histology technical and support staff. This may include histotechnologists, histotechnicians, lab aids, grossing assistants, and clerical staff. Specific responsibilities include organizing time, materials, resources, and personnel; ensuring the technical quality of slide preparations; printing and monitoring the daily special stain log; maintaining appropriate levels of supplies and reagents; ensuring compliance with company and departmental policies; and evaluating new process improvements. The role also involves maintaining equipment, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained through Quality Control Log Review, developing and performing Quality Assurance Charts, maintaining current procedure manuals, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and ensuring histology employees comply with safety regulations. As a leader, you will provide input in the evaluation of the histology staff, offer orientation and training for new team members, meet regularly with direct reports, and maintain effective communication. Hard Skills 4 years of experience as a histology technician 2 years of supervisory and/or management experience Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CLEP, CAP, and relevant state regulations Computer skills: knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel); basic statistics skills Preferred: Certified as a HT or HTL (ASCP) Job Type This is a permanent position. Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Alpharetta, GA. Work Environment Evening shift, M-F, 2pm - 10:30pm.
