Learn more about why you want to be here!**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**The Claims Assistant provides administrative support to assigned Claims Examiners to facilitate the effective administration of claims and the timely payment of benefits in accordance with applicable state law.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES****Delivers basic to intermediate administrative support to Claims Examiners.*** Contacts insured and other relevant parties to the claim to obtain necessary information to process the insurance claim.* Documents conversations or information on appropriate enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.* Organizes and works with assigned Claims Examiners to update claims information as well as access, search and retrieve data.* Stays current with diary tasks and procedural changes.**Imparts exceptional customer service to internal and external customers*** Provides information to insureds, claimants and outside vendors as requested by the Examiner.* Processes claims for indemnity payments and state mandated forms.* Processes appropriate claims related payments.**Assists Claims Examiner through claim resolution on related administrative projects.*** Supports Claims Examiners in the preparation, processing and monitoring of payments* Communicates pertinent claim information to the client, legal counsel, service providers as well as internal claims staff.* Ensures documentation required to process claims is accurate and complete for auditing purposes.**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum of 1+ years’ claims insurance or closely related experience. **CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**None required.**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS*** Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to learn enterprise resources planning (ERP) software.* Basic understanding of office procedures.* Exceptional customer service, phone etiquette and time management skills.* Excellent data entry, strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize assignments.* Must have the ability to: + Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. + Use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. + Collaborate effectively with others to achieve team goals and foster a positive team environment. + Exercise sound judgment in executing work deliverables from written or verbal instructions.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**Office environment – no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands and employees are regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, and hear. **WORK ENVIRONMENT**This position operates in an office environment and requires the frequent use of a computer, telephone, copier, and other standard office equipment.This description is a general statement of essential job functions and responsibilities.The position may include other duties as assigned.**We are currently not offering employment sponsorship for this opportunity**#LI-ET1 #LI-HybridThe current range for this position is$19.58 - $30.88This range is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
