Job Description:

The Med Surg Float Pool nurse provides comprehensive patient care across multiple medical-surgical units, adapting quickly to varying patient populations and unit workflows. Nurses are expected to function independently, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and uphold all hospital policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Float across all inpatient Medical-Surgical units, step down and ED for med surg holds.
• Orient at Main Campus on start date with additional orientation at Women and Families.
• Work every other weekend, with no scheduled shifts on holidays.
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 on standard Med Surg units.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years Med Surg experience, no new grads.
• Certifications required: BLS, NIHHS (TNCC and ACLS preferred).
• Comfortability with floating between multiple units.
• Strong EPIC proficiency required.
• Compliance with all Temple policies, including attendance, documentation standards, and medication safety protocols.
