This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality service.Position DetailsReports to: National DOT Compliance & Fleet ManagerLocation: OnsitePosition Type: Full-TimeFLSA Status: Non-ExemptPay: HourlyTravel: Up to 60%Essential Job FunctionsPerforms routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, machinery, and equipment (e.g., oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations)Diagnoses mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and clearly explains necessary repairsConducts inspections and test drives to verify the quality of work performedMaintains accurate records of maintenance and repairsAssembles mechanical components according to manufacturer specificationsOrders and manages inventory of parts and toolsEnsures compliance with company safety procedures and industry regulationsDevelops maintenance plans for recurring service needs and equipment upgradesPerforms vehicle assessments and informs management of issues that may prevent passing inspectionCollaborates with team members and other departments to ensure timely service deliveryMaintains a clean, organized, and safe work environmentPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum Job RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 5 years of experience as a mechanic or in a similar roleValid driver’s licenseStrong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and diagnostic equipmentAbility to read technical manuals and schematicsStrong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solvingExcellent communication and customer service skillsPhysical ability to lift heavy equipment and perform tasks in various environmentsMust have own toolsPreferred Job RequirementsASE certificationWork Schedule/Work EnvironmentThe standard working hours are 7 AM – 4 PM. This candidate should be willing and available to work overtime as needed to meet project demands and deadlines, including extended hours, overtime, various shifts including nights and weekends and holidays when necessaryThis position may require extended periods of travel and working in inclement weatherMust be able to stand and work on feet for 8–12 hour shiftsMust be able to sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, reach, crawl, and kneelMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 10 feetMust be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shouldersMust be able to communicate by voice and detect sounds by earMust be able to wear personal protective equipmentMay be exposed to non-hazardous and hazardous materialJob Description and Hiring DisclaimerThis position description incorporates the core responsibilities of the job.
