Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!Description of WorkKnowledge Skills and Abilities/Management PreferencesThis position is located at Tyrrell Prison work Farm. The work in this class involves first-line supervision to Correctional Officers in minimum-custody facilities, increasing the custody and security coverage. Positions assign lower-level custody staff to a particular area or post. Employees oversee officer activities and performance and ensure that the custody, security, and welfare of offenders is maintained. Employees arrange work schedules to ensure shift coverage, implement operational procedures and ensure rules and regulations are followed according to policy. Positions may at times be the highest-ranking custody staff on the grounds or the Officer-in-Charge (OIC). Positions report to a Correctional Lieutenant I and/or a Correctional Assistant Superintendent.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences:Salary Range: $37,377 - $65,408Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Based upon these factors, a pay increase May result.About the Division of Institutions :The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions.
