Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Role Overview The Outpatient RN CAP 1 is an entry-level registered nurse responsible for delivering and coordinating clinically competent care for patients undergoing hemodialysis. Key Responsibilities Conducts patient assessments, documents data, adjusts treatments, and collaborates with the healthcare team. Provides patient and family education, administers medications, and responds to emergencies. Ensures proper laboratory procedures and updates care plans based on interdisciplinary input. Acts as a resource for staff training and ensures compliance with policies and regulations. Qualifications & Skills Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school, hold current licensure and BLS certification, and have less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience (preferred). Prior dialysis experience is advantageous. Physical demands include lifting, standing, and assisting with patient mobility. Supervision & Physical Environment May oversee Patient Care Technicians or LPNs, with supervision contingent on experience and training. Work involves direct patient care in a healthcare setting, with exposure to infectious materials, and may require travel to training sites or other facilities.
