Job Description
Join Our Pediatric Intensive Care Team!

Job Description:


- Position: Travel RN - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Duration: 12 Weeks

Unit Information:


- Number of Beds: 16
- Staff Size: 35
- Staffing Structure:
- Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1-3 Sitters
- Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 2-6 RNs
- Patient Ratios:
- 1-2:1 for PICU patients
- 3:1 for Intermediate Care
- 4:1 for general care

What We Are Looking For:


- Required Skills:
- Minimum of 1+ year of recent, direct bedside experience with pediatric critical care patients
- Experience with:
- Pediatric mechanical ventilation
- High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
- Nasal CPAP and management of tracheostomies
- Arterial lines and central lines
- Titrating vasoactive, paralytic, and sedative infusions
- Competency in weight-based pharmacology (Broset-method/PALS dosing) and age-specific assessments (neonates to adolescents)

- Preferred Skills:
- Experience in precepting novice and new graduate nurses

- Typical Procedures:
- Management of advanced respiratory interventions and invasive lines
- Continuous organ-support therapies
- Assistance in intubation, central line management, hypodynamic monitoring, and moderate sedation for specialized pediatric procedures
- Titration of complex drip and continuous infusions

- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS

- ICU & NICU

Dress Code:


- Scrub Color/Attire: Navy Blue

Work Schedule:


- Rotating weekends, with 4 weekend shifts per month
