Complex Adult Health Clinical Nursing Instructor (Part-Time)

Job Description Part‑Time Visiting Professor – inspire nursing students to achieve their educational and career goals while enjoying a flexible schedule, excellent compensation, strong mentorship and opportunities for professional growth. Responsibilities Implement the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession. Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads. Plan clinical experiences, provide direct supervision and evaluate nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups. Be self‑available to staff agencies. Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students based on course objectives. Remediate students as required. Orient and maintain current knowledge of agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations. Develop and post written clinical assignments aligned with students’ knowledge base, skill competency, and learning needs. Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner. Contribute to ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College. May teach didactic course content under the supervision of the course coordinator. Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns. Work with college administration, staff, and faculty to improve overall operation and student satisfaction. Participate in the implementation of the College Assessment Program, campus retention efforts, and departmental and campus policies. Serve as a professional role model for faculty, staff, and students in customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, dress, attendance, and general professionalism. Utilize relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving, consensus building, and win‑win negotiation. Comply with all applicable regulatory rules and standards. Report to the dean or assistant dean; a course coordinator will provide direct oversight. Handle related duties as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Complex Adult Health Focus on the needs of adult patients and their families regarding health promotion and management of conditions that require acute and chronic care. Scheduling Schedule determined by course need and clinical specialty for each 8‑week session. Days and hours may vary depending on course and clinical partner. Additional dates may not be available; clinical dates are not guaranteed for every session. Qualifications Master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university. Unencumbered professional RN nursing license in Alabama. Illinois RN license required to teach all courses (course assignments prioritized for professors currently licensed in Illinois). Active BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network). At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse. Additional Information Pay transparency: expected compensation ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, depending on education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job‑related factors permitted by law.
