Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days (3x12, 7:00–19:00) | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays | Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 26-bed acute care unit serving a diverse population primarily comprised of general surgery and trauma patients
• Care for post-surgical patients, who make up approximately 90% of the unit census, as well as patients with medical diagnoses
• Utilize cardiac monitoring, capnography/end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and continuous pulse oximetry available in all patient rooms
• Document and manage patient care using Epic electronic health record system
• Float within scope of practice as needed per facility float policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• Must be able to work every other weekend and every other holiday, including 2 of 3 winter holidays
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred but not required
• BSN preferred
• Experience in medical-surgical or telemetry nursing
• Background in post-surgical or trauma patient care
