comes next for patients and for our industry.Role SummaryThe Senior Manager, Scientific Communications & Publications plays a key role in the development and execution of scientific communication and publication activities supporting Servier's Neuromuscular Disease portfolio, including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), Becker Muscular Dystrophy (BMD), and emerging pipeline assets.Working closely with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, HEOR, Global Publications, and external experts, this individual will support the planning, development, and execution of scientific publications and medical communication initiatives that facilitate the timely dissemination of clinical and scientific data to healthcare professionals and the broader scientific community.The position reports to the Director, Scientific Communications & Publications and serves as an integral member of the Neuromuscular US Medical Affairs team.Primary ResponsibilitiesPublication Planning, Execution, and ImpactSupport the development and execution of publication plans for DMD, BMD, and pipeline assets in alignment with medical affairs and evidence generation objectives.Coordinate the development of publication deliverables including:ManuscriptsReview articlesAbstractsPostersOral presentationsCongress-related communication materialsManage publication activities from concept through submission, ensuring quality, compliance, and adherence to timelines.Facilitate collaboration among authors, internal subject matter experts, medical writers, and publication agencies.Maintain publication trackers and ensure timely execution of publication milestones.Participate in publication strategy discussions and contribute scientific insights to support communication planning.Publication Governance and ComplianceMaintain accurate documentation and tracking of publication activities within appropriate systems, ensuring compliance with Good Publication Practice (GPP), International Committee of Medical Journal Editors guidelines, and internal SOPs.Identify and mitigate risks related to authorship, data transparency, and compliance.Contribute to continuous improvement of publication processes, acting as a subject matter expert on publication governance and ethical standards.External Engagement & Thought Leader ManagementBuild and manage relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), investigators, and academic collaborators.Represent the organization at scientific congresses and integrate external insights and competitive intelligence into actionable recommendations that inform strategy.Demonstrate strong therapeutic area expertise through ongoing surveillance of scientific literature and congress activity.Vendor & Budget ManagementProvide day-to-day oversight of medical writing and publication vendors, ensuring high-quality output and operational efficiency.Manage and forecast publication budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with strategic priorities.Other Data Dissemination ActivitiesTranslate complex clinical and real-world data into clear, accurate, and impactful communications for healthcare professionals.Contribute to broader scientific communication initiatives and departmental priorities as needed.Assist in translating complex clinical, scientific, and real-world evidence into clear and scientifically accurate communications.Support development of congress-related scientific materials and communication initiatives.Contribute to scientific communication projects aligned with Neuromuscular Medical Affairs objectives.Monitor relevant scientific literature, congress presentations, and competitive developments within the neuromuscular disease space.Education and Required SkillsAdvanced degree (PhD, PharmD) in a scientific or medical field.5+ years of experience in publications, medical writing, or a related field within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.CMPP (Certified Medical Publication Professional) certification preferred.Strong understanding of publication guidelines and standards (e.g., GPP, ICMJE) and regulatory/compliance requirements.Familiarity with publication and content management systems (e.g., Datavision, Veeva).Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing deadlines.High attention to detail with a commitment to scientific quality and compliance.Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage external stakeholders, including KOLs and vendors.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear scientific narratives.Proactive, self-motivated, and solution-oriented with strong ownership and accountability.Travel and LocationBoston basedUp to ~20% travel (US and international) to attend regional and international conferences/workshops.This position may require occasional An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Employees in this position are also eligible for Short-Term and Long-Term incentive programs.
