Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner Or Physician Assistant

Methodist Healthcare System is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join a growing and highly respected Neurosurgery Program at Methodist Hospital Stone Oak, one of San Antonio's premier acute care hospitals. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of neurosurgeons providing comprehensive care for patients with spinal disorders, cranial conditions, trauma, and other complex neurological conditions.

• Collaborate closely with neurosurgeons, hospitalists, nursing staff, and ancillary providers

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage neurosurgical patients in clinic, hospital, and perioperative settings
• Conduct patient histories, physical examinations, and follow-up visits
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
• Assist with preoperative and postoperative patient management
• Provide patient education regarding surgical procedures, recovery, and care plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing and imaging studies
• Participate in hospital rounds and consultations
• Document patient encounters utilizing electronic medical records

Qualified Candidates

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current Texas licensure or eligibility for Texas licensure
• Board Certified NP or PA
• Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Spine, Neurology, Surgical, or Critical Care experience preferred
• New graduates with relevant clinical rotations and strong interest in Neurosurgery may be considered
• Excellent communication and team-oriented skills
