RN Post Surgical Care

Overview The Post Surgical Care unit is a specialized unit designed to continue the recovery care of post-surgical patients such as same‑day surgery cases, post non‑operating room anesthesia cases, and post‑surgical patients from PACU who need less than 24 hours of hospital stay. The unit has a 14‑bed capacity. Weekend rotation is every three weeks, and holiday rotation follows department scheduling guidelines. Operations run Monday through Saturday, closed on Sunday. A strong surgical or progressive experience of two years is required to join our team. Scope of Work The RN, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the nursing process framework to provide professional care by incorporating patient‑family centered care principles. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients, providing quality care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, recognizing the impact of nursing care on outcomes, partnering with patient/family input and goals in planning care, developing teaching strategies, and documenting education and learning in the health record.
