Overview
The Cath Lab RN plays a key role in supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures within a high-acuity, procedure-focused environment. In this position, you will work closely with cardiologists, technologists, and other members of the care team to provide safe, efficient, and patient-centered care before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures. This role is well suited for nurses who are comfortable with rapid clinical decision-making, detailed technical work, and a structured daytime schedule of four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with participation in an on-call rotation for off-hours, weekends, and holidays.

Required Skills

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Demonstrated experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or comparable high-acuity cardiac environment
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and basic interpretation
• Ability to assist with cardiac catheterizations and interventional procedures
• Skilled in IV medication administration and titration within established protocols
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment in urgent and emergent situations
• Effective communication and collaboration with physicians, technologists, and nursing staff
• Competence in maintaining sterile technique and following infection control standards
• Recent, hands-on experience and proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) is required
• Ability to work 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, four days per week (M-F), and participate in required on-call rotation

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with both radial and femoral access procedures
• Familiarity with cath lab imaging systems and procedure-area documentation workflows
• Experience with STEMI/ACS pathways and emergent cardiac interventions
• ACLS certification (if not required by facility, strongly preferred)
• Prior experience in a large hospital or academic medical center cath lab

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) considered with relevant experience
• At least 1–2 years of recent RN experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Cardiology, or similar high-acuity cardiac setting

Other Requirements

• Ability to meet all facility credentialing, health, and background requirements
• Current BLS certification from an accredited provider; ACLS strongly preferred and may be required by facility policy
• Willingness and availability to take on-call assignments for off hours, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Reliable transportation to meet on-call response expectations
