Electrical and Instrumentation Designer

I & E Designer, onsite in downtown Houston, pays $70-80/hr depending on experience on W2, 1 year contract.

The primary responsibilities of the Company’s Instrumentation &Electrical Designer, Senior shall include

• :Facilitate project design and drafting management in accordance with industry and company STD’s as necessary to ensure the successful completion of all project related activities. Detailed items include

:o Assigning electrical equipment and instrument tagging number

so Assigning conduit and cable number

so Resolving drawing development issue

so Drafting changes to record drawing

MUST HAVE SENIOR LEVEL EXPERIENC

• E.Preparation of process flow diagrams (PFD), piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID), general equipment layouts, facility plot plans, and equipment and instrument lists for various company plant, pipeline and related facilities construction project
• s.Assist in the development of Project Scopes, Engineering / Design Scopes, and Construction Scopes of Work, for use in the establishment of contracts with third partie
• s.Attend project meetings to obtain full understanding of customer needs and scope definitions, and to provide technical input toward efficient and effective design
• s.Assist in the review of man hour estimates and work schedules to assure efficiency in the execution of project
• s.Assist in coordinating the distribution of design packages related to projects to ensure that all stakeholders are allowed input, and that all necessary information is exchange
• d.Provide design and drafting services for time / budget critical project
• s.Provide design and drafting services associated with the preliminary development of potential project
• s.Communicate with vendors for materials quotes and availability of material
• s.Create parts lists by performing material take-offs to ensure the timely availability of item
• s.Development of material data sheet
• s.Generate material requisitions for submittal to project manager for approval
• s.Maintain record of documents and correspondence pertaining to technical design issues throughout the development of project
• s.Participate in the development and maintenance of Company standard drawing
• s.Maintain a high level of expertise in necessary areas of design and drafting and ensure access to specialty resources and technolo
• gyAssist in the development and implementation of specifications and procedures related to the handling of department business to facilitate lower costs in the creation and maintenance of drawings and documentatio
• n.Coordinate with Project Managers, purchasing agents, inspectors, engineering contractors, and construction contractors relating to design drawing content, materials and construction issue
• s.Coordinate with Project Managers and Engineering on design and project logistical issues to assure effective, linear progress of the projec

• s.Must be willing and able to travel by air and/or automobile to facility sites as require
