Position Description The Line Cook 1 position is a senior-level line cook responsible for preparing high-quality dishes with precision and consistency. This role requires advanced culinary skills, deep knowledge of kitchen operations, and the ability to work independently. Cook 1 serves as a key support to the Sous Chef, often leading sections of the kitchen and helping to train junior staff. They are typically one step below a kitchen supervisor and may act in a supervisory role when needed. Position Requirements 3+ years of professional cooking experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting. Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment. Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure during busy service hours. Strong teamwork and communication skills. High attention to detail and commitment to food quality. Food Handler's Certificate (or ability to obtain upon hire). Culinary degree or formal training is a plus but not required.
