About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 2:30 PM to 11 PM Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current Registered Nurse license in Oklahoma Certifications: BSN preferred Description: Graduate of a Registered Nurse program required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room is strictly enforced. Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other areas of perioperative services. Acts as a patient advocate. Meets surgical standards of nursing practice. Maintains skills in setting priorities and organizing workload effectively. Handles changes in assignments and integrates multiple tasks with multilevel personnel. Requires strong communication skills and attention to detail. Possesses thorough knowledge of sterile technique. Demonstrates commitment to team concept and task completion. Develops and implements total nursing care for patients through assessment and nursing diagnosis. Creates patient care plans and provides leadership by collaborating with nursing and other patient team personnel. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Participates in and implements age-specific care and interaction. Collaborates with the healthcare team in patient and family assessment. Performs comprehensive assessments and reassessments as per policy. Adequately assesses and reassesses pain and utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Holiday coverage is required. Bilingual skills are not necessary. EMR used: Allscripts.
