Certified Surgical Technician, Outpatient Surgery (40 hours, Day/Evening) - Sign On Bonus Available

Position Certified Surgical TechnicianDepartment: Moakley Operating Room (Outpatient Surgery) Schedule 40 hours, Day/Evening Position Summary As a member of the surgical team, the surgical technician provides patient care during surgical procedures by ensuring an aseptic and safe environment. Duties include prepping and sterilizing rooms, transporting patients, passing instruments, and assisting surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other staff during surgery. The technician uses technical and aseptic techniques to ensure compliance with established sterile standards and procedures. Sign‑On Bonus $10,000 for candidates with over 1 year of multi‑specialty experience, paid after successfully completing 6 months of employment. $5,000 for candidates with less than 1 year or single‑specialty experience, paid after successfully completing 6 months of employment. Education Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must also be a graduate of an accredited/approved program in surgical technology (or completed an Armed Forces medic or corpsmen program). Certifications, Licenses, Registrations Required Surgical Technician certification required (unless employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on or before July 1, 2013). Knowledge and Skills Previous surgical tech experience preferred. Ability to speak, read and write English effectively. Ability to accurately interpret and use medical terminology and abbreviations. Computer proficiency to access and enter computerized data and information. Effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with patients, families, physicians, and other hospital staff. Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work. Compensation and Benefits Compensation Range: $38.94–$49.38. This range is based on the minimum job qualifications and considers education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to the position.
