Data Center Chief Engineer

Salary: $96,300 - 96,300 per year Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office applications
• 3+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities (e.g., hospitals, military installations, public safety facilities) with a focus on industrial electrical and mechanical systems
• Proficient in reading and drafting procedures, technical documentation, and engineering schematics
• Ability to travel or commute to various data center locations as required
• Willingness to work at alternative sites temporarily during training periods or until assigned facilities are operational

• Serve as the primary point of escalation for all facility-related issues
• Oversee management and operation of routine and emergency services across critical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, and cooling towers
• Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot facilities within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Provide training and support to Engineering Operations Technicians and foster a positive team culture with the Facility Manager
• Develop and implement new standard procedures for Engineering Operations Technicians, Chief Engineers, and vendor partners
• Assist with the development of new facilities and participate in projects aimed at enhancing current facility efficiency
• Perform maintenance outside of normal business hours as necessary, including responding to emergency calls
• Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• Collaborate with IT managers and other leaders to coordinate projects and optimize safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency of plant operations
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols by both vendor and Amazon personnel
• Establish performance benchmarks for the building, conduct analyses, and produce operational and maintenance reports
• Utilize administrative tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for daily tasks
