Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated pediatric hospitalists for our Main Campus and community locations as we expand our clinical services and enhance our academic programs. Our Division of Hospital Medicine, which includes over 70 faculty members across three sites, fosters a diverse range of clinical, educational, quality improvement, and research interests. We are currently focused on filling hospitalist roles at our Main Campus and community sites, including Arrowhead and East Valley. Available positions encompass both standard and nocturnist roles, with a shift differential offered for nocturnists.

The Main Campus is a standalone children's hospital featuring a level 1 trauma center and extensive subspecialty care. There are numerous opportunities for involvement in research, quality improvement, and educational initiatives. We host a well-established, ACGME-accredited two-year pediatric hospitalist fellowship program with six fellows and play a crucial role in the medical education of our large pediatric residency program. Our faculty members also hold academic positions at various universities.

Set to open in Summer 2024, Arrowhead is a freestanding children's hospital located in the Northwest Valley. This facility will include a 32-bed unit, a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and a Pediatric Emergency Department, along with comprehensive subspecialty support and 24/7 in-house coverage by hospitalists and intensive care providers. Teaching opportunities for medical students, residents, and hospitalist fellows will also be available.

Opening in 2026, East Valley will be a dedicated Women & Children's center in Gilbert. This site will feature a 24-bed unit, a PICU, and a Pediatric Emergency Department, along with comprehensive subspecialty support and 24/7 in-house coverage by hospitalists and intensive care providers. Newborn care will be provided in collaboration with a local medical center (no delivery attendance or NICU coverage required). Teaching opportunities for medical students, residents, and hospitalist fellows will also be available.

• Patient Care Services:
  • Deliver patient care services for which you are clinically privileged, including inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Provide subspecialty consultations and follow-up care.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures.
  • Offer urgent and emergent care as necessary.
  • Aim for optimal patient and family-centered care.
  • Support hospital patient satisfaction goals and division-specific targets.
  • Adhere to divisional patient safety and quality care standards.
  • Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine.
• Divisional Responsibilities:
  • Set and strive to achieve annual goals and objectives for yourself and the division.
  • Support medical education programs, including supervision of trainees and allied health professionals.
  • Conduct teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees.
  • Engage in postgraduate continuing education activities.
  • Contribute to the division's research initiatives.
  • Support the growth and development of the division.
  • Assist with satellite efforts of the division when appropriate.
