Department: Department of Homeland Security This vacancy is for a GS-0301-11, Program Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, HUMAN RESOURCES SERVICE CENTER WEST in Glen Burnie, MD. Key Responsibilities You will serve as a Program Specialist and be responsible for resolving broad programmatic PCS issues that directly impact the provision of entitlements Coast Guard (CG) wide. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Functioning as the Coast Guard's point of contact regarding procedural requirements for civilian PCS travel entitlement claims, appeals, waivers of overpayment, tax obligations, etc. Conducting detailed reviews of travel vouchers prior to submitting to Finance Center (FINCEN) for processing. Serving as liaison between traveler and travel management offices to ensure traveler receives correct and timely guidance on starting the moving process. Serving as the point of contact for all civilian new hire security paperwork. Providing technical advice and program improvement plans concerning the civilian new hire security process.
