Job Description

The Hydraulic Assembler is responsible for assembling, installing, and testing hydraulic systems and components in a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read technical drawings, and hands-on experience with hydraulic hoses, fittings, and related equipment. The ideal candidate will support production goals while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assemble hydraulic components including hoses, fittings, valves, pumps, and cylinders according to specifications.

• Cut, crimp, and install hydraulic hoses and tubing to meet required tolerances and system requirements.

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure correct assembly sequence.

• Align, position, and secure components using hand tools, power tools, and specialized assembly equipment.

• Perform pressure testing and leak testing on hydraulic assemblies to ensure proper functionality.

• Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).

• Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues, including leaks, improper fittings, or pressure inconsistencies.

• Maintain clean and organized workstations while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.

• Accurately document work performed and report defects or non-conforming products.

• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality teams to meet production goals.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in hydraulic assembly, mechanical assembly, or industrial manufacturing.

• Familiarity with hydraulic systems, components, and fluid power principles.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.

• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet daily output requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.

• Vocational training is desired.

• Ability to read, write, and comprehend required.

• Basic computer usage knowledge required.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing/production setting that is not climate-controlled, where the pace is fast and performance-driven. Dress in plain-colored t-shirts (blue or gray preferred), jeans, and steel-toe boots, as required. The role is available for the 2nd shift from 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime expectations after the shift and some Fridays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DALEVILLE, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.80 - $21.80/hr.
