Our systems evolve through use, reflecting and amplifying the judgment of the people who work with them. We own every layer, from infra to interface, so intelligence and interaction can evolve in lockstep. We're starting with expert software developers. But the platform we're building will adapt to experts across fields: engineering, research, operations, and beyond.About the RoleWe're hiring a frontend systems engineer to shape the public and product-facing surfaces of Noumena's intelligence platform. This is a foundational role where UI isn't just presentation; it's how intelligence becomes legible, learnable, and trusted. You'll build adaptive, real-time interfaces that sit directly atop our evolving models and runtime systems. You'll work across modeling, infrastructure, and product teams to ensure every surface you touch feels coherent, structured, and fast, even as it adapts in real time. This isn't frontend-as-polish. It's frontend as interface logic, crafted for experts who think deeply and move quickly.TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind, Node.js. Bonus points for experience across the stack with Python or Rust and with adaptive or model-facing UI architectures. What You'll DoArchitect and build production-grade UIs with real-time feedback loopsLead implementation of developer-facing experiences (docs, onboarding, auth, billing)Collaborate with infra and model teams to align interaction patterns with backend logicShape internal tools that support structured planning and engineering workflowsYou May Be a Good Fit If You:Have deep expertise with React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architectures (e.g., Next.js, Vite)Think in systems, not stacks, designing flows and states that remain stable under complexityHave built production auth, billing, or IAM flows with performance in mindWrite maintainable, performant code that improves every system it touchesKnow how to balance clarity and speed across evolving requirementsLead through quality, setting standards and mentoring others by exampleValue developer UX, docs, onboarding, and long-term maintainabilityNavigate ambiguity with craft, ownership, and curiosityBonus Points For:Experience building dev-facing platforms, SDKs, or public APIsFamiliarity with identity (Clerk, Auth0, NextAuth) and billing systems (Stripe, Metronome, Orb)Optimizing frontend systems for global, low-latency usersExperience with SEO metadata, structured data, and indexingWhy This Role MattersThis is the surface where deep systems meet real people. It's the frontend of a frontier: the invitation to trust, to explore, to build. What you ship will shape how Noumena is seen, understood, and used. You won't just polish a product. You'll craft the public intelligence layer of a vertically integrated system, where every pixel, prompt, and pattern is grounded in clarity, coherence, and control.Team & CultureWe're a small, senior team of researchers, engineers, and builders. We value deep ownership, curiosity, and deliberate thinking. We care about coherence, from silicon to syntax, and we move with quiet urgency. We're remote-flexible and invest in real-world time together, especially during pivotal build phases. We're radically deliberate: open to experimentation, allergic to drift, and committed to systems that matter.Location & CompensationRemote-flexible (with travel covered for quarterly in-person gatherings)Open to candidates spending time in the Bay Area during key build phasesIncludes meaningful equityhigh-impact work means high ownershipSeniority levelSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionIndustriesTechnology, Information and InternetReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Stealth AI Startup by 2xInferred from the description for this jobMedical insuranceVision insurance401(k)Paid paternity leavePaid maternity leaveGet notified when a new job is posted.Sign in to set job alerts for "Software Engineer" roles.Software Engineer, AI Intern (Summer 2025)San Francisco, CA $145,000.00-$250,000.00 3 days agoSan Francisco, CA $130,000.00-$238,000.00 2 weeks agoSoftware Engineer Frontend (Multiple Levels) - SlackSan Francisco, CA $172,000.00-$334,600.00 1 day agoSoftware Engineer, AI Platform - New GradMountain View, CA $125,400.00-$188,100.00 2 weeks agoSan Francisco, CA $170,000.00-$270,000.00 2 days agoSan Francisco, CA $130,000.00-$190,000.00 2 weeks ago(General Hire) Software Engineer Graduate (Advertisement Team) - 2025 Start (BS/MS)San Jose, CA $113,500.00-$250,000.00 2 weeks agoSan Francisco, CA $150,000.00-$230,000.00 1 month agoMenlo Park, CA $56.25-$173,000.00 2 weeks agoSoftware Engineer, Frontend (All Levels)San Francisco, CA $150,000.00-$220,000.00 2 weeks agoSan Francisco, CA $130,000.00-$240,000.00 3 days agoSan Francisco, CA $125,000.00-$175,000.00 4 days agoSan Francisco, CA $105,600.00-$198,000.00 2 weeks agoFull Stack Software Engineer (L4), Product Localization EngineeringFull Stack Software Engineer - Post-trainingAlameda, CA $130,000.00-$160,000.00 3 days agoNew Grads 2025 - Software Engineer, AlgorithmSan Jose, CA $120,000.00-$165,000.00 9 months agoSan Francisco, CA $140,000.00-$195,000.00 3 days agoSoftware Engineer (L5) - Open Connect PlatformUnited States $100,000.00-$720,000.00 2 days agoSan Francisco, CA $176,000.00-$250,000.00 3 days agoWe're unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
