Senior Software Developer

Our direct client is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join a collaborative technology team responsible for developing and maintaining mission-critical business applications. This role is ideal for an experienced software engineer who enjoys working across the full software development lifecycle, solving complex technical challenges, and building high-quality enterprise applications. You’ll work on a variety of projects, including developing new features, resolving production issues, and supporting both production and lower environments. Responsibilities Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and develop implementation roadmaps. Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using modern software development practices. Maintain ESRI/ArcGIS databases and related applications. Partner with technical leaders to evaluate solution options, tools, and third-party technologies. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies while contributing within established development processes. Design innovative solutions for complex technical challenges. Work closely with senior engineers to deliver high-quality software. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production issues. Participate in an on-call rotation supporting production applications. Perform additional development and support duties as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 7+ years of enterprise Java (JEE) software development experience. Strong experience with ESRI GIS technologies, including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Server for publishing and managing GIS services. Hands-on experience with spatial databases and SQL Server. Proficiency in: Java Python SQL Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or other LLM-based coding assistants to improve developer productivity and code quality. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Spring Boot. Experience developing modern web applications using Angular, React, or Vue.js. Experience building scalable enterprise applications in an Agile environment.
