Fabrication Quality Engineer (Remote – MI or MN)Compensation: $90k - $130k+ (flexible for exceptional candidates)Location: Remote (Must reside in Michigan or Minnesota)Travel: 25-50% throughout MI or MN (All travel expenses paid with company card)Schedule: Home every weekendWhy Join Us?We're partnering with a respected consulting firm that supports major transportation and infrastructure projects across the U.S. This is an opportunity to work with DOTs, transit authorities, and leading construction organizations while helping improve quality systems, supplier performance, and project success.Perks:Remote opportunity Competitive salary: $90,000-$130,000+ DOE Company-paid travel expenses Home every weekend PTO plus all federal holidays Additional paid holiday time when schedules allow 401(k) eligibility after one year Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute supplier qualification programs Oversee Quality Management Systems (QMS) on large infrastructure projects Write and improve Quality Assurance (QA) programs for agency clients Review fabrication, manufacturing, and engineering drawings Review design plans and provide technical recommendations Develop Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) Investigate and resolve quality nonconformance issues Review welding documentation including WPS, PQR, and WQTR Deliver quality and technical training to clients Interpret industry codes, standards, and contract requirements Develop technical specifications, inspection procedures, and quality documentation QualificationsExperience in quality management within construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or infrastructure Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work directly with clients and project stakeholders Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio) and Adobe Acrobat Ability to travel up to 50% Preferred ExperienceProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) 5+ years leading Quality Management Systems in fabrication or construction 3+ years of engineering experience on transportation or transit projects 3+ years of project management experience on structural or infrastructure projects Type: Direct HireCategory: ConstructionDate Posted: 2026-07-23
