Limited Radiologic Technologist (FT) | Radiology | Ames

McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for Limited Radiologic Technologist for its Ames office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.

Responsibilities include: Positions patients and adjusts equipment for all routine radiographic procedures. Instructs patients regarding procedures. Observes patients for vital signs during examination. Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment. Uses radiation protection according to department policy and procedures. Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis. Examines imaging studies for technical quality and diagnostic usefulness. Authorizes release of patients upon completion of imaging examination. Delivers diagnostic images to radiologists for reading/interpretation. Performs bone densitometry exams according to established protocols. Responsible for daily QC of bone densitometry equipment.

Department-wide Expectations: Recognizes emergency situations; initiates life support measures for patients as necessary. Maintain patient records. Assumes responsibility for supplying area according to department needs. Enhances professional growth through education programs, conferences, and workshops. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as required. Assumes responsibility for portions of the quality assurance program. Maintains patient confidentiality. Performs related work as required.

Education:

• Completion of accredited course of study in limited radiologic technology.

Certification/License:

• Current BCLS certification.
• Current state permit as Limited Radiologic Technologist.

Days: Monday - Friday. Occasional weekends

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Experience:

• One year of experience as a limited radiologic technologist preferred.

Pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background checks are a condition of hire.
