Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830–$1,930
• Employment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract; local Registered Nurses are welcome to apply

• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Patient Population: Pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Unit Volume: Approximately 32 beds with an average daily census of 32 patients
• Interdisciplinary Support: Respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, physical therapy, rapid response, interpretation services, transportation, and unit support staff

Emergency Department RN Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience, including Emergency Department nursing experience
• Required experience in an emergency observation or holding unit; medical-surgical, telemetry, progressive care, or stepdown experience is preferred
• Active Ohio RN license or compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience is preferred
• Current flu vaccination is required; medical exemptions may be considered
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and emergency response skills
• Ability to complete required credentialing and fingerprinting promptly before the assignment begins

Emergency Observation RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring emergency observation, monitoring, and continued evaluation
• Perform focused and ongoing patient assessments, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Manage patients with acute medical, neurologic, respiratory, cardiac, and trauma-related conditions
• Administer medications, blood products, insulin protocols, and cardiac or vasoactive infusions according to established procedures
• Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to changes in cardiac status
• Provide care for patients requiring oxygen therapy, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator support, chest tubes, central lines, PICC lines, and surgical drains
• Initiate and maintain peripheral IV access, perform phlebotomy, and manage infusion and vascular access devices
• Provide procedural sedation monitoring, wound care, feeding tube care, tracheostomy care, and other appropriate bedside nursing interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Educate patients and families, coordinate transitions of care, and accurately document clinical findings and interventions
• Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered environment throughout each night shift
