Construction (QA) Inspector - Anchorage, AK

Job Title Construction (QA) Inspector – Anchorage, AK Location Anchorage, AK (JBER) Salary Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview. Requirements Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a federal background review and drug screen. Duties / Responsibilities Perform daily inspections and submit reports on construction projects at federal facilities for compliance with contract, design documents, plans, and specifications regarding workmanship, materials, installation, and construction methods. Provide recommendations or necessary changes to government personnel regarding contract plans and specifications for all phases of construction. Monitor contractor’s quality system and administer the three-phase inspection process. Provide surveillance at construction sites and assist owner in problem resolution. Deliver and review change orders, modifications, RFIs, and submittals. Monitor contractor’s schedule. Review and comment on the accuracy of construction contractor’s requests for payment. Verify accuracy of as‑built drawings. Review and ensure QA and safety plans are adhered to by the contractor. Utilize Resident Management System (RMS). Education / Experience High School Diploma/GED minimum; construction‑related degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience on large complex multimillion‑dollar federal construction projects, preferably USACE and/or Department of Defense. Experience with a wide range of trades including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, roofing, and general building construction. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) experience preferred. Experience using RMS 3.0 preferred. Experience with three‑phase inspection process. Experience with OSHA and EM 385‑1‑1 USACE Safety Manual preferred. Demonstrated proficiency and effective communication skills in English, both oral and written. Knowledge of building and construction crafts to ensure detailed inspections meet required workmanship levels. Ability to read contract drawings and specifications. Professional presentation, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail for client and contractor interactions. Valid driver’s license and insurable. Physical Requirements Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments. Ability to carry required instruments and equipment. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
